Richard Cambridge’s Poets’ Theater presents:

Sarah Oktay: the co-founder of Spoken Word Nantucket, a poetry venue that operated for 12 years on the island of Nantucket off the coast of Massachusetts. She is a chemical oceanographer specializing in climate change research. The majority of her career has been based at field stations and marine labs where land and sea is preserved for science, education, and outreach. She has been writing nonfiction essays for many years for the publication “Yesterday’s Island. Those will be coming out in book form in Fall and Winter 2021. She has also edited and produced eight volumes of poetry for other poets. Her first poetry chapbook “Sifting Light From the Darkness” (Noble Fir Press, Nov. 2020) examines the interfaces between science and the sublime.
