CURATOR – RICHARD CAMBRIDGE
Chris Chandler Show – Mighty Monthly Muse
Chris Chandler, a life long performer and provocateur, started the Pandemic Lock-Down, by performing a poem a day. After about 100 days, he began his “Poem of the Week,” and in July on the evening that would have been his infamous “Library Show” adding a full set once a month.
Streaming live from the Jim Alberti Theatre in Highland Park, New Jersey, he finds a way to incorporate Very Special Guests into this very unique show.
He was always a profoundly unique performer, but now, under lockdown, he keeps finding new and entertaining ways to present his idiosyncratic style of storytelling. He will make you laugh and think at the same time. He will make you cry and raise your fist in solidarity simultaneously. Every First Friday of the Month at 7 PM Eastern / 4 PM Pacific.
Chris Chandler Virtual Tip Jar
“This man is Dangerous.” – The Washington Post
Chris Chandler has performed on thousands of stages across the US, Canada and Europe as well as for hundreds of organizations seeking social justice.
He has been called, “America’s best kept secret” by someone really important who would prefer to remain anonymous. However, The Boston Globe called him “The most radically creative act on the coffee house circuit.”
Few musicians can claim “on-the roadisms” the way Chris Chandler can. He is a true veteran of the road, traveling across The United States of Generica for over thirty years. His anthology of road tales transforms into a flock of doves beneath the musical high-wire act.
His experience as a street performer and rabble rouser shine through every performance making him a welcome addition to festivals, carnivals, hay rides and riots, or where ever the rabble need to be roused.
He has worked with everyone from Allen Ginsberg to Ani DiFranco and Pete Seeger to Mojo Nixon. Utah Phillips says, “Chris Chandler is the best performance poet I have ever seen.”
